Blog Wars 3... List Build Part 2 - The Big Stuff

Well if you haven't already read my Part 1 here is the link here.

As a Nid player the big pointy stuff has to come into the list very quickly so it can be easily afforded. Might be the way some people do it but I love my MC's.

So with out further a do on to the Heavy Support slots...

Heavy Support Slot #1

Well it wouldn't be a Nid list with out a Carnifex! So I'll take 2 in a Brood. Generally speaking 1x TL devourers normally does me with a set of Scything Talons to make sure the dreaded 1's don't ruin the combat.

Now I'm thinking of having 2 TL devourers on each so in a brood of 2 there would be 24 shots at s6 coming at anything which gets into view of my trigger happy fex's... in a word... tasty!

Shame it makes them roughly 200ish points each but this maybe reviewed once my list is properly done.

Fex's can cause havoc and it is always interesting to see how people try and deal with them! Certainly when bigger and uglier bugs are running towards them at the same time...

Heavy Support Slot #2

Next in to heavy support role is the Mawloc

Love the Mawloc mainly as it can pop up anywhere and cause a lot of headaches but mainly cause for me its a visual distraction for the rest of the force. When something pops up with a s6 ap2 large blast template Marines take notice.

I will concede that it is terrible at close combat or doing anything useful but hopefully with the use of Deathleaper I can get him eating some troops rather accurately.

Heavy Support Slot #3

Finally the Trygon will make an appearance in the list.

I will only take him as a 200point Trygon so just basic version. He is still an impressive killing machine which can easily handle himself in any situation... ok maybe a Wraithlord did make him look silly once...

I still dont know how best to use him tbh... either run him forwards or burrow him in with a nice tunnel for much nicer shooty things to run behind and... erm... shoot!

So thats my Heavy Support sorted for Blog Wars 3... currently that is about 1100ish points down with MC's already in the list!
